Japanese Summer School

During August and September 2000 I was a student tutor with the College of International Relations language course in Pembroke College. Joy Sarkar and Lucy Emmerson were the other tutors for our course. Here are a few photos - though not as many as the Japanese students took!

[wine]
We ran a wine tasting one evening, with a selection of 8 wines from Australia, California, Portugal, France, Germany and, most importantly, the offy round the corner.

[more wine]
We used high table for the tasting, so I made the most of the chance to use the Master's chair. Isn't the CU Wine Society bow tie nice?

[more, hic, wine, hic]
Who'd a thought thirty years ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Chateau de Chassilier wine?
Aye. In them days, we'd a' been glad to have the price of a cup o' tea.

[Y..M..C..A..]
A disco in the New Cellars demonstrates the trans-national appeal of jumping up and down in a sweaty room with coloured lights.

[We're not as thunk as you drink we are]
Joy and me, BA, MSci, R-OH(aq).
